A calm morning is perfect. A morning when you take your time and enjoy the very first moments of the new day, the part when you may do what relaxes you and the part when you remind yourself that everything is going to be better.
You wake up, that is because of the alarm or because of the sun shining through the curtains, and you sit and think of the day ahead. You may smile as the cat is right beside you and still has sleep on his long whiskers, a fact you are sure of thanks to his deep purrs as well as
gentle paws on the blanket, barely moving. Further, you disentangle your legs and slowly sit up and get ready in your own way, at your own pace, which might take a while but there is enough time. Yet the most important step is that when you make tea: the water is in the kettle and the green tea bag is ready, already in your favourite mug. A few minutes and you can find yourself in your favorite chair with your tea and a good book or the latest in your favourite domain (I have been reading Nature and The New York Times). Listening to music also helps. Moreover, the rain outside is much welcomed as the sound of raindrops blends with the classic music to create the perfect atmosphere- your morning.
You may have noticed how the sun was shining and after a while it started raining.

I really enjoy listening to the Harry Potter soundtracks and my favourite, Messiah , composed by G.F. Handel. As for books, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens , Shakespeare and The Ancient Ship by Zhang Wei are always there.
Music to listen to:
Enya, The Very Best of Enya: includes the songs May It Be (from the Lord of The Rings) and Only Time
Sam Smith, In The Lonely Hour: Like I Can is my favourite
Bryan Adams, Bare Bones and So Far So Good
Celine Dion, D'eux has several of her best songs in french, is you ask me ( Je sais pas, La memoire d'Abraham, Destin, Les derniers seront les premiers; J'attendais)
A World To Believe In(Japanese) (song)
Zaz- On Ira (song)
John Williams, Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone Soundtrack
Handel, Messiah
Books to read:
Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist: I just finished this book and I have to admit that the message was moving, Funny enough, I could correlate different moments of my life with events in the book.
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities: Dickens is one of my favourite authors and this is the first work of his that I read
Yasunari Kawabata: The Sound of The Mountain and Snow Country: I have yet to finish the latter but nevertheless I tend to like it better than the former. As always, Kawabata's prose is poetry and the surprise is at the end.
Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood ; In addition, I want to read Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage-I've been a fan of Murakami's books for a long time
Edgar Allan Poe, The Tell-Tale Heart: not actually a book but interesting and captivating: the YouTube audio by Annette Jung comes with a animation as well, I would actually recommend listening to it first before reading
Zhang Wei, The Ancient Ship
It's been a long time since I've written for this blog but it's getting better and colder outside and that is just what I needed.
