Why I'll never forget 2015

2015 was the year of changes for me. Some of them I loved, some of them I despised initially, but overall I think change is only for the better. This year gave me new resolutions and goals and most importantly, made me realize that dreams can come true. Yet, they take a long time to do so and the only way they become a reality is through sacrifice and tears and hard work. I have yet to see my biggest dream come true, but this year I got a taste of what it would be like if it did. This motivated me more than ever- and
I am ready to begin 2016 with that dream in my head.

Awesome things that happened in 2015:

  • I read more scientific journals and research, and I realized that this is one of my favourite aspects of science.
  • I survived hard exams that prepared me for what's to come next (more exams, that is)
  • I watched some inspiring movies: The Theory of Everything and The Imitation Game, both of which developed the idea that a passion can take you a long way and that a passion is worth fighting for.
  • I realized I'll make real friends in the future. And that not having any real friends at some point is a part of life.
  • I went to Cambridge. This was probably one of the highlights of my year. That place was everything I ever dreamed of and more. I fell in love with a College and decided to follow my dream. I also met wonderful people there, which I can actually call my friends.
  • I took the airplane for the first time in my life. I love take-offs.
  • I then took the plane by myself from another country and so traveled alone for the first time.
  • I saw my brother for the first time in about 3/4 years. And it was awesome.
  • I took the first photos that really mattered to me, which documented important moments of my life. Looking at those makes me feel happy and proud to have accomplished something.
  • I went to London two times, First in April. I was amazed by the brilliant city and fell in love with the potential with which any individual there is endowed. Then in December, my most loved time of the year. London shined and so did I after I spent about 6 hours in The National Gallery ( I SAW VENUS AND MARS BY BOTTICELLI).
  • I listened to more music in French and read more scientific articles in French.
  • Discovered the beauty of Scotland.
  • I wrote a part of something which could become a novel.
  • I realized I need to redefine "failure" as in what a failure is and what that means for me.
  • I wrote an actual scientific essay and sent it to a University.
  • I started to become myself as I finally found myself. And that's way too important.

These are I believe the highlights of the highlights of what happened in 2015. Now I just have to make some big goals for 2016 and see what's in store for me, It will be fun reading this post again in January 2016.

~2016 will be marvelous~
